As a sign artist for over 25 years, I learned the art of sign layout and design, studying lettering structure and fundamentals and the use of color and space, laying out sign designs with patterns. Executing quality lettering , painted by hand. With this background, as well as experience with airbrushed and hand painted art, gold leaf work and pinstriping, today at DSD we are set apart because we bring the best of both worlds to our sign making. Computer assisted design and production, as well as the ability to produce anything by hand. Many times we have produced beautiful airbrushed sign components and logos, then converted the original art to digital prints for mass production. My sign making career began in Iowa in 1980. I was taught by an old school sign painter named Tom Carter who was a reknown sign painter and wildlife artist. 10 years ago, My wife Sherry and I were on vacation in Wisconsin, and were so taken by the beauty of the northwoods here, as well as the design opportunities for resort areas. Seemed like a wonderful place to live and work, so we moved here..
